Title: Replace my failed motherboard/Repair
Post by: surajit on December 26, 2015, 05:52:22 pm
Gigabyte is requested to honour their 3 year warranty on their motherboard and give me a replacement for the Failed one without any further delay.
I purchased a motherboard from them Product Name: GA-X58A-UD7 (2.0) Serial No: SN102400025255 SN134977000021 which stopped working after 2.5 years. After harrassing me for 3 months they had replaced the same with another in six months. the replacement also stopped working after a year. then they repaired the same once and after 5 days that also stopped working. I demand for replacement or repair of the same.from Gigabyte. Any otheir board must serve me for three years as per warranty which both the boards provide by them did not meet.
worst is there is no one to listen or discuss at their service centre at Nehru place. When I referred the matter to their helpdesk or their Delhi HQ, they are repeatedly ignoring me. I want to talk to somebody who is responsible enough to understand the matter and help resolve my problem.
Gigabyte may respond urgently. earlier communications attached for ready reference,
S bhattacharjee, phone 9871795211.
Question: Dear sir/madam, Please note that none of the boards provided by Gigabyte could crossed the warranty period of three years. I have been politely asking Gigabyte to review the matter at their senior level and provide me releif as sought in my communication earlier. If Gigabyte choses to ignore the logic, I am afraid, the boards will find lesser number of takers/users once the user community gets to know of this situation that Gigabyte does not care for their users on grounds which is not fair.
It is once again requested that my application may be heard
and accommodated. This will boost our confidence on Gigabyte.
Regards

Question: Dear sir/madam,
Thanks for your response. However, in India we buy products which does go out of circulation in a span of 2/3 years. Request please refer the matter to higher authorities who, i am sure, will be able to sanction a compatible motherboard to me free of cost or against nominal payment and relieve me of this nightmare.
Thanks

Answer:
Dear Surajit Bhattacharjee,
Please understand warranty is according to the original invoice or serial number. Both the invoice and product serial number shows the item is no longer cover by manufacture warranty. Sorry.

Question: Dear Sir/Madam,
I appreciate your viewpoint. However, I wish GIgabyte appreciated mine. I buy a product, fairly expensive by our standard, and now because it can not be replaced or serviced I have no use of the machine which uses the motherboard as the base. I once again request you to consider my request and agree to repair replace the board just once more time. I shall be obliged.
Even if you have a rigid policy, at some level this may be seen as an exception also to cater to a loyal customer. I have every hope that my request will be heard.

Question: Dear Sir/Madam,
Kindly read my long text once again. The original product did not meet warranty and I was given a replacement. The replacement also did not pass warranty.
I again raise the questions.
1. What is the meaning of warranty if two out of two products could not meet the warranty period ? A product from gigabyte is not expected to go out of order like that.
2. I also offered your service center at New Delhi, Nehru place to repair the board even if with a cost. But they flatly refused saying that they don't have the expertise.
3. If I cant get a replacement or repair against my board, all other parts of my computer renders useless.
Request the problem be handled with proper consideration to above. A routine mechanized response as given against first letter is not at all expected.
I have hope that somebody who will look at it professionally and not merely from mundane business perspective will help me out.

Answer:
Dear Surajit Bhattacharjee,
Kindly note different environment and operating method will cause various result. When the product is replaced, the warranty is depend on original product warranty. When the product is still under the warranty, we will try our best to repair the product. However, if the product is out of warranty, it may possible that there is no material for repair and we are hard to assist in this case.

Question: Dear Sir/Madam,
I had purchased one Gigabyte Motherboard GAX58A-UD7 sl number 47193311844110SN102400025255 (replaced by 4719331844110SN134977000021 later) against Invoice number D-RI/25597 dated 28.12.2010 against a three year carry in warranty. However, after two and a half years the motherboard started behaving erratically. The motherboard would fail to start and only after several attempts the it would boot. There is no physical damage anywhere and I had not tried to test/repair it by unauthorized personnel. I had taken it to Gigabyte Service center at 706- 7th floor Skylark building, 60, Nehru Place, New Delhi 110019 on 19.08.2013.
The chronology of the service is as below:
Date of purchase : 28.12.2010
Date of deposit at repair center : 28.8.2013
Gigabyte informed continuously for 5 weeks that the board is under repair.
On 01.10.2013 they have returned the board to me saying that they have asked for replacement from the management
On 27.12.2013 the replacement item has been reported as ready and 09.1.2014 it was collected by me.
On 12.9.2015 I had again deposited the board to Gigabyte service center with complaint of not-booting.
12.9.2015 I god a message that the board has been fixed and I collected the same in the 1st week of Oct 2015
In the first week of Nov 2015 again the board malfunctioned and the same was taken to Gigabyte service center with complaint of not-booting.
The board was return on 12.12.2015 saying the it can neither be replaced, nor it can be repaired, even again charge . No senior person of Gigabyte entertained me. I has to take back the faulty board.
As per warranty condition, the board is expected to work up to 27.12.2013 which it did not. The replacement was given after 2.5. years. The new (?) board did not work for even two years. Gigabyte did not make any effort to repair the same also.
If no new board lasts for three years what is the meaning of warranty or reliability of the product. It is hard to believe that a reputed company like Gigabyte would take out products whose cumulative life would only cross the warranty period.
I tried to talk to Gigabyte personnel. None was ready to talk and I was mated out a very bad treatment. The casual approach of M/s gigabyte has rendered my Indian Rupees 87, 297 investment useless as I am not able to use the other parts and the computer.
I Request M/s Gigabyte worldwide to look into the problem and provide me a replacement of the board immediately which must run for three years or repair the same at no cost to me. Already I have spent considerable amount in getting the Board and the bulky computer to the service center several times.
I also attach relevant pages to support the above.
