Title: GA-Z170X-Gaming G1 power consumption
Post by: Slion on December 28, 2015, 03:53:57 am
I'm trying to understand if and how I can bring down power consumption of a system based on that Z170X-Gaming G1.
Can I run with 6700K as efficiently as I would a 6700T if I set TDP limit to 35W in the BIOS?
Which of the TDP limit is relevant?
What's the difference between all those TDP limit settings in the BIOS?
 * Package Power Limit (1 and 2)?
 * Platform Power Limit (1 and 2)?
 * Power Limit3?

Should I also lower CPU Frequency of my 6700K to 2.8Ghz to match the frequency of the 6700T
Will this affect stability?

What does that ECO button do exactly?
Is it a toggle button? Is just for test bench?

How low can the idle power consumption of that board can go when all power management feature are active?
Are those figure published somewhere?
