Title: Realtek Network Adapter "disconnected" After Sleeping
Post by: Adam Southern on January 02, 2016, 01:52:42 pm
Hello all,

Just a day ago I've been having some trouble with my laptop's wireless connection. It's a gigabyte p15f v3, and after putting it to sleep (closing the lid and leaving it for a while), "no connections are available" and "media disconnected". This is the first time this has happened after doing it sleeping.

I tried updating the driver through device manager, but that only made things worse. The update apparently reached it's timeout period and was unable to have my wireless at all, because previously restarting would fix this issue (until it is put into sleep again). Then getting the driver from my model's site didn't work either. I have since updated windows, which seemed to fix the issue, until this started again. I can still restart to fix it, however.

Some useful info:

Driver: Realtek RTL8723BE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC

C:\WINDOWS\system32>ipconfig /release

Windows IP Configuration

No operation can be performed on Ethernet 3 while it has its media disconnected.
No operation can be performed on Local Area Connection* 2 while it has its media disconnected.
No operation can be performed on Ethernet 4 while it has its media disconnected.
No operation can be performed on Wi-Fi 2 while it has its media disconnected.

**Just noticed these numbers after the type (Wi-Fi 2, ect). Was this because of the windows update?

Thanks in advance,
