Post by: syssysy on April 12, 2016, 03:27:03 pm
"You have to enable XMP profile 1 in BIOS or manual tweak the DRAM settings as the memory SPEC, otherwise it will running as default 1333MHz speed.

And you can going to the motherboard forum, and check how to enable XMP by some user who use same motherboard."

I have received this e-mail from G.skill Ripjaws tech supporter. I have bought (G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C9D-16GXM) this Memory card.

I need help with setup this memory card, I have no idea what is XMP OR DRAM. Please help me how to set up this memory card.

Yes that is right you have to set the profile for it to run at 1600. All memory is made that way. What ever the default setting is of the base setting of the memory. The base set for that memory is 1333.

It is just like if you got DDR4 3000 memory the default base setting are 2133. Till you set the profile then if it is XMP supported memory than it should run at 3000.

All memory out there will always go to the default settings. To you change it in the bios to the speed of the memory.
