Title: GA-Z170-HD3 Disks Not Appearing In BIOS
Post by: Shula on April 16, 2016, 04:11:42 am
I connect my OCZ Vertex 2 SSDs and they do not appear in Windows Disk Management nor BIOS. I'm wondering why.

Intel Core i3-6100 3.7 GHz
Samsung 850 Pro 256 GB

There is a known incompatibility issue with Vertex 2 drives and Intel chipsets from series 8. The only thing that you can do is replace the drive as there is no firmware update from OCZ for these drives.

I tried to find other links to confirm this but, unfortunately, the OCZ site is being rebuilt since OCZ was recently taken over by Toshiba.

Thanks. The two OCZ SSDs now appear in BIOS. What I did was connect the two OCZs first, and booted with one of them into Windows, then I shut down, connected the Samsung, and booted into Windows again. After that, I checked the BIOS and all three were showing and have continued to show in BIOS and F12 boot menu through several boots. Why the procedure actually resolves I don't know. Thanks, again.
