Title: GV-N960G1 Wrong BUS setting

I just recently bought this new card. It replaced a GTX 660Ti I had (Gigabyte) that was reported as being a Gen 3.0 port @x16 v3.0. This NEW Card says it is @ x8 Gen 1.1 and goes up to Gen 3.0 after running the render test but stays @x8.
Is this a fault of the card or the MB? I have a Gigabyte Z97X G3 board with the latest BIOS and have set Gen 3.0 in the settings.
Does anyone have an idea as to what could be the issue? or am I just worrying for nothing?

BTW, the machine has a i7 4790K with 32mb DDR3 @1600mhz
