Title: Where to fill out RMA form?
Post by: IrishGrimReaper on April 20, 2010, 05:31:35 pm
Hey I bought a GA-790XT-USB3 for my friends new build.

This mobo came and it's missing the cover thing that goes over the AM3 socket. Here is a pic of what I mean.

Can I get one of these sent out or does the mobo need to be RMA'd? It's brand new, only a week old.

Hi,

If you don't want to RMA the board and just need to get hold of a CPU retention bracket, try sending a PM to runn3r: http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;u=13

or check this link: http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php/topic,1566.0.html as someone else needed to get hold of a replacement bracket.

If that fails, contact me by PM as I have one that I could send you.

The mobo will work then if I just put one on yes? If all it needs is one of them to work, I'll try get one sent out then, no need for an RMA since the board is new, and should work.

Thanks  btw :)

Hey,

Sorry I didn't read your post properly this morning..... (lack of coffee)

As the board is new you should contact the shop/on-line retailer where you bought it from and get it replaced. I wouldn't trust a "New" board that had something like this missing.
