Hello, i have a simple question Are drivers must be downloaded from only official site?
My motherboard is GA-X58A-UD3R Rev 2.0 (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3449#dl)
I asked this question because some of my motherboards drivers on official site is outdated. I've found seperate drivers updated on their site. But my concern is are these newer drivers universal or every motherboard driver must be downloaded only from official site.
Here are a few examples:
1. Realtek Audio Driver on GB Official Site version: 5.10.0.6662 (2012/10/25)
On Realtek Official Site (http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/) version is updated on 2016/12/02
2. Intel Chipset Driver on GB Official Site version: 9.1.2.1007
On Intel Official site (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/53/Chipsets) version is 9.2.0.1030
3. Realtek LAN Driver on GB Official Site version: 7.088.0617.2014 (2015/04/16)
On Realtek Official Site (http://www.realtek.com/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=13&PFid=5&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false#1) version is updated on 2016
4. Renesas USB 3.0 Driver on GB Official Site version: 2.0.30.0
On (http://www.station-drivers.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=353&func=select&id=438&lang=en) version is 2.1.39.0

You having any problem? Most of the time those drivers are made for people having problems. It is up to every person running they computer if they want to update drivers. To answer your question yes & no, but all those are fine if you want to update them.
Most of the times you really only need the drivers from Gigabyte. Yes you can get a newer driver from the other official site if you want the newest driver. Like I said if you are not having problems. I have a saying "If it isn't broke don't fix it".

Thanks for your detailed answer :) I love using my devices up to date. But you're absolutely right about "latest isn't always best". My main doubt is "are those updates (not included in offical gigabyte site) fully compatible with my board."

Yes you can use those drivers but make sure they all really match the hardware what you are using. That is why I don't mess with drivers that are working. Yes it is nice you can keep everything up to date but why.
The only drivers I have up to date is maybe the video driver. Everything else is 2014 and older on my computer. Been doing this for almost 30 yrs. I'm only picking but what is it with all the X58 boards lately? LOL
