Title: My bum is big... GTX works on i3 but not i5... My bum is big...
Post by: homebanjo on January 09, 2017, 07:56:42 pm
...my bum is just getting bigger sat in this chair as I cannot tear myself away from this problem.

On upgrading my cpu, from i3 to an i5 3570, my GTX 580 will not play ball.

After bios the win logo goes to load (spinning caterpillar), then the screen goes black and the keyboard lights go out.  It will boot in safe mode at the most.

What I have done: Updated bios, all drivers, removed all parts, cleaned case, reinstalled fresh Big Balls Windows 10. Turned off processor graphics. Messed with bios, reset bios (repeat...)

My board is H61M-D2H-USB3, and it is all running on a nuclear power plant sapping 875w psu. Drive is ssd and the case is a Soho Nightlife red colour.

As I said, it will run without the card, then I put the taunting bugger in and voilĂ ! I turn into Einstein's definition of madness.

You good people are my only hope before I go and do something drastic... Okay, I'm not going to do anything drastic.

Anyhows all, Happy New Yeeeeeeeeeaaaarrrrr!!!!!!! Whhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!
