Title: 790fxta-ud5 BIOS upgrade - ext USB HD's dropping out
Post by: ranger1 on May 11, 2010, 05:19:04 am
Since upgrading my bios to F3f and also upgrading the NEC USB 3.0 driver, my external drives keep dropping off. I have to reboot to get them back on. Turning them off and on, windows does not detect them.

These drives worked fine on the F2 bios. Has anyone seen this problem before?

Enclosures are Vantec Nexstar 3mx with 2x500gb WD green drives in JBOD mode.

I cant roll back as i have the new 1090t in place.

Hi,

Have you checked the power options from within Windows?

Double check that you haven't got USB selective suspend settings enabled as this will automatically turn-off external devices if they are not being regularly accessed.
