Title: Virtualization not enabled
Post by: manos on October 05, 2017, 11:33:02 am

Hello everybody,

I am trying to spin up a virtual machine using vagrant, when i do that i get the following error

Quote
Stderr: VBoxManage.exe: error: AMD-V is not available (VERR_SVM_NO_SVM)

after i searched in google i found out that the virtualization is not enabled in my BIOS.

I have a windows 10 64-bit desktop with AMD RYZEN 5 1600 Six-Core Processor and my BIOS model name is
AB350M-HD3 which i have updated to F4 in order to have the latest version and fix my problem.

In both version of F3 and F4 i went to my BIOS settings and i followed this path to anabled the virtualization:
Advance Frequency Settings -> Advance CPU Core Setttings -> SVM mode Enabled

but in both cases i get the same error.

I am new to all of this, i tried to give as many info i can, if you need anything more please ask.

Many Thanks,

Manos

Hello everybody,

After a long google search i was trying to find if hardware virtualization is supported and i found that the microsoft hyper-v is running and using virtualization so i disabled hyper-v. I don't know why but it seems there was a config around virtualization between hyper-v and virtualbox. That thing seems to solve my issue. If someone with more technical background know more about this please explain.

Thanks.
