Title: m55sli-s4 not working in sli mode with gts-250
Post by: mark007 on May 20, 2010, 08:03:35 am
Hey everyone, I am really stuck. I have a m55sli-s4 motherboard, and I decided to run sli with 2 inno3d gts 250 video cards. Both cards are recognized under system management, and I have installed the latest nvidia drivers for them in windows 7. Everytime i run them in sli mode, I get a really funny colored screen, and basically its useless. I have tried 3 power supplies, tested the cards individually in another system, the only thing I haven't done is upgrade the bios.

Any ideas, could it be the sli bridge??? any advice would be great.

Cheers.

P.S. Has anyone got a Amd Phenom *4 9550 or higher running on these boards???

I had the same problem.  I would get a locked screen with blocky colors and black background.  Mine was because of overclocking or the driver.  I reinstalled the drivers and  bumped the clocks down a bit haven't had the issue since.

My specs:  GA-M57SLI-S4 Rev 2.0
Athlon X2 6000+
4GB DDR800
2 MSI GTS 250's SLI OC'ed to 740/2250   Driver 197.45
Corsair TX-750w PSU

Tried reinstalling drivers, upgrading bios no luck.  If I don't run the machine with any over clocking, it will run -  but seriously in that state the machine is so slow it isn't even worth using.
