Hi I am trying to run 2 video cards
NVIDIA Gforce 8600 GT
+
NVIDIA G Force FX 5500-8x
At the same time on Vista 32 business.
with a Gigabyte GA P35 DS3 M/B.
The 8600 GT has been running trouble free for some time but I want to add a new card the 5500.
When starting with the 5500 and the 8600 it only seems to see the 5500.
Then when I remove the 5500 and try to revert back to the 8600 I get Blue Screens and have to remove the drivers and reinstall.
Can anyone please help with a procedure to get both running at the same time ?
cheers

Hi,
I don't think that you will be able to get both your Graphics cards working at the same time.
I am not up-to-date with Nvidia but, with ATI cards the recommended set-up is to use two cards of the same spec. If you use two different cards (ie a 4850 and a 4550) it will down-clock the faster card to the slowest one.
It might be worth doing a check at Nvidia to see if you can actually run both these cards at the same time but my guess is that you can't and the reasons might well be that they each need different drivers as they use different chipsets.

What exactly are you trying to do?
You cannot SLI them of course (must be same chip), and you cannot use PhysX either...
Are you just trying to get both cards to work with two or more screens?

What I can't understand is how you are running a PCIe and an AGP card on the same board?

Well that too sure :)
Running "ANY" AGP card in this day and age is beyond me.
