Title: 990FXA-UD3 r4 pcie/sb problem ???
Post by: maymac789 on April 06, 2018, 06:54:48 pm
Hi,

first, my rig:
FX9590 @ stk
990FXA-UD3 r4, bios f3i
2x8 Gb ram @ 2133 c11 1t
asus R9 290x @stk
2 hp 360 nic (pci-e 4x)
fresh win 7 x64

I've some troubles with my MB:
sometimes, it won't boot, it don't reach bios:
-randomly, if my wireless mouse was charging on a usb port... I fix it with extra NB voltage.
-sometimes, since i've had my 2 nics. So i must clear cmos, and so on...

my nics are ok, my mouse and my ram too, no problem on other rig.

if i unmount my nics, all rocks.

what voltage can i raise to solve 2nd problem ?

Thks

Greetings,
PCI slots, adjustable voltage?  What voltage are you referring to?

Your mobo/ram is hopelessly overclocked especially @ 2133 c11 1t - this board can do max 2000 and that's it!
I would go down to 1833 to be on the safe side.

Try all bios default and see if that works out

mine
990FXA-UD3 r4, bios f3i
2x8 Gb ram 2400 mhz, set at 2133 10-12-11-28 1t hynix mfr chips 1.63v in bios
Working perfect. This PC gave to my nephew.

When i pluged some usb devices in the back, sometimes have yellow mark in device manager. I need to unplug/plug in other usb, to play with them. Problem its for years.
On my new set up, 8700 asus z370 all usb are working, i plug usb 2.0 in 3.0 and 3.1 in the back, and all working perfect.
So i think that on gigabyte fxa its realtek vl801 chipset/driver problem.

Asus z370 board have asmedia usb chipset.

Now regarding boot problem, its because of that fx9590, anyway lower his clock to about 4.4ghz on all cores. Differences is 5% in games.
If you want better cpu get ryzen 2600.

Thank you guys for your forum, its been an lovely ride.
