Title: Vga@bios not recognizing gigabyte card
Post by: Doriangr on September 11, 2018, 07:43:07 pm
Hi I am trying to flash my card's bios, it is a Gigabyte nvidia GTX 980 G1 GAMING 4Giga. It has Hynix memories. I downloaded the newer bios through gigabyte oc guru II, it stated it has F10 bios and downloaded automatically the F11 version. I read the instructions included in the package and I downloaded the tool vga @bios from the gigabyte site. When I launched it is says:" bios version unknow, EEPROM size unknow byte, Warning !No card found here. I tried running it as administrator and in various compatibility modes with no effect. Any ideas?

While I research this, can you tell me what it is you are trying to solve?  Are you trying to flash so you can have the "latest" BIOS available for your card, or does F11 specifically address an issue or behavior you are experiencing?

This is nothing magic about having the latest BIOS available for your MB or GPU.  If you are not having any problems, stay where you are and enjoy using your card.

This was everything I could find.

https://www.gigabyte.com/Support/Utility/Graphics-Card

Latest version of VGA@BIOS is v7.04

If you continue to experience problems with Gigabyte software, I suggest you contact support.
