Title: Z170-X Gaming 7 unknown USB Device Error Code 43
Post by: theking2 on September 25, 2018, 06:20:35 pm
Hi!

On my Z170-X Gaming7 based PC I see an unknown USB device (warning sign) with error Code 43.

Is this normal?  I had a similar problem with a competing product Maximus IX Apex. There I only had to update USB 3.0 eXtensible drivers from the Microsoft ones to a specific one (ASmedia) this does not work on the Gigabyte board.

I do not see anything not working but it is a bit annoying.

This is a driver error related to the USB bus or a connected device.  If you have multiple devices connected which vary in performance one can cause an error condition and display this error.

If you are using hubs or cable extensions, this can cause these types of errors.

I'd start by disconnecting all USB peripherals and restarting the machine, then plug each one in one a time to see if the error re-occurs.
