Title: GA 990X Gaming SLi Rev1 & Samsug EVO 970 SSD
Post by: welshcob on December 07, 2018, 10:46:43 pm
Hi Guys,

I'm new to the Gigabyte forum, if I make a mistake please let me know.

I have GA 990X Gaming SLi Rev1 I've bought a 500GB Samsug EVO 970 SSD but the M2 slot on the mb doesn't seem to fit, according the Samsung support it the EVO 970 should fit the GA 990X has anybody experience with that set up.

Regards

Kelvin

Greetings,
While the 970 is not listed on the QVL, it should be compatible and fit.  What about it doesn't work or fit?

Hi, I'm running a new build, GA-990FX-Gaming, I've installed a 960 EVO 250Gb in the M.2 slot, no probs. Remember it has to be presented at a slight downward angle (30° ish) then eased down to a flat position before fixing. Also it's a 2280
form which means the little standoff has to be in the third position from the socket. For info, the 20Gbytes stuff is a fantasy, but I get 1660 ish on Crystal, which is not bad i guess. good luck.
