Title: GA-Z170x-Ultra Gaming-Continuous reboots on may 2019 update
Post by: DonMurray on May 15, 2019, 04:19:07 pm
GA-7170x-Ultra Gaming   Today this computer is not taking the update well.  This morning I woke up and it was in its bios state.  I rebooted the computer and it now continuously is "configuring updates and rebooting"  Its done it about 10 times now.  Something is not right.   Also this computer will not boot when it has a external USB drive connected to it.  It seams to boot to that USB and then botches the bootmanger file.
Also in the 710x  is the zero a zero or the letter O ?

Greetings,
There is no such product GA-7170X

Suspect you have GA-Z170X-UG  (Z170) - It's a zero as in one hundred seventy.

Congrats on being one of the first to adopt build1903 of the forums.  I guess you were a windows Insider?

I'm sure you have a back up of your system to revert to, correct?

If it was working before, and isn't now after the update, its not related to your hardware.

Try advanced start up or SAFE Mode.  You may need W10 boot media to attempt recovery.  Not going to comment on your system being unable to boot with something "external" attached.  Focus on getting your system back.  I'd avoid being an early adopter of new builds or preview builds on a system you rely on for "production".
