Title: TRX40 AORUS What is the Realtek® ALC4050H codec?
Post by: 6311 on November 21, 2019, 02:21:11 am
1. TRX40 AORUS What is the " Realtek® ALC4050H codec " ?
2. what is " Support for DTS:X® Ultra " ? for what Headphones or home theater ?  Via HDMI ?

3. I'm trying to download the DTS Sound Unbound plugin from the Microsoft Store
and does not connect well to sound card (NVIDIA 1050TI HDMI 2.0 )

3.1 I partially see the DTS headset driver IN MY PC
but this driver does not work for me, the new Denon 6500 Receiver does not recognize DTS only PCM 2CH

3.2 the DTS Sound Unbound for home theater driver does not connect to the driver on sound card, even though the DTS test sometimes exists and sometimes does not exist!
In practice there is nothing on the computer and does nothing !

Does that mean I have a technical problem ? Or does the driver only work on new Motherboards ? like
TRX40 AORUS PRO WIFI

A codec is a device (chip) or software which can encode or decode a digital data source.

Support for DTS: X Ultra -Support for speaker and headphones only.

DTS Sound Unbound
Home theater via HDMI is not supported.

I didn't understand anything about your answer, and unfortunately you copied from the dictionary
Regardless of my question.

1. I asked what is the "TRX40 AORUS What is the" Realtek® ALC4050H codec "?"
On the TRX40 AORUS motherboard ?
If it is Chip - what does it do ?
What is the ALC4050H ?
If it is software What does it do ?
What does it give the system ?

2. You have written " Support for DTS: X Ultra -Support for speaker and headphones only."

What's new about this ? Obviously it has to do with supporting speakers or headphones, but what does it give ?
 More channels?
What sound quality will I get?

Does it convert stereo sound to what  ? DTS-X ? How many channels ?
Does it convert DD or DD + to DTS-X ? How many channels ?
what does it do ? what do I get ?

3. DTS: X Ultra -Do you support home theater systems ?

I did give verbatim answers for your generic questions.

When someone asks, "what is the "TRX40 AORUS", do you want me to say?  Its a motherboard or something else?

"What is the" Realtek® ALC4050H codec".  In this case, its software that supports conversion of a digital audio stream to analog.

What is does?  Games and movies have for some time supported greater dynamic range than what was capable of being heard through certain hardware.  The improvements and additions of codecs allows a more immersive experience.  Think of it like this.  You are playing a game standing in a clearing.  Someone is sneaking up on you crawling through the brush.  You can hear that now because the codec is providing more separation spatially.  Same goes for a movie, you hear a train whistle in the distance and your brain perceives the sound is coming from the left.  It's more immersive and realistic.  (Didn't copy this BTW)

If you are looking for different answers regarding implementation, I would recommend contacting support.  Microsoft and DTS can provide more information about their products.

your answers are not related to my questions!
you don't understand all the questions I asked!
and you imagine that you answer it !

Stop answering me nonsense that you find in online stories

"It turns out that AMD did not include any onboard passthough audio in the chipet. That means that all the motherboard vendors that are using a Realtek HD audio codec for the rear audio have had to include the ALC4050H audio codec to bridge the USB to the I2S. The Realtek ALC4050H is used to integrate a bridge between the chipset and USB 2.0 to give the Realtek ALC1220 all the necessary connectivity to the onboard audio. Most of the boards in the stack use the ALC4050H codec to power the 3.5 mm microphone input on the rear panel, as well as the front panel audio as not to waste its capability.".
It's a chip.

A codec is a device (chip) or software which can encode or decode a digital data source.

And further went on to say, "What is the" Realtek® ALC4050H codec".  In this case, its software that supports conversion of a digital audio stream to analog."

"Its a chip" - Yes, exactly what I said in my first reply. I then said it is responsible for converting the digital audio from the system > to analog output - 3.5mm jacks (speaker and headphones only)

Neumi, thanks for your confirmation.

Quick question: Were you able to install the DTS sowftware (DTS X and DTS unbound) and do these actually work as I was not able and I don't have any way of controlling any type of eq of any kind and the standard sound quality is really wrong/bad whatever word can describe at best.

Thank you!

I have a Aorus TRX40 Gigabyte Xtreme with the 3970X In Windows 10 the Optical port is working with my Denon receiver, but not in CentOS 7.7 (Linux) The port is listed as Realtex USB Audio.... I have some nice FLAC music titles and I wish to get a set of noise canceling headphones.... to take advantage of the boards high tech sound do I need to buy corded headphones? I already have bluetooth phones for my iPhone :)
