Title: GA-H110M-S2PH problem
Post by: proeto on March 12, 2020, 03:29:37 pm
Hi Everybody - 1st post on this forum.
Above mobo with Intel Core i3 6100 - suddenly fails - reboots about every 20-30 seconds - casing fan very slow.
Fit small speaker across spkr hdr - get 1 short then 5 short beeps - assuming AMI bios this indicates CPU.
Inspect - replace thermal compound - reboot - no difference.
Get new 6100 - install - still 5 beeps.
Try monitor on VGA and HDMI - no video

Hoping it's not the mobo, but what else is there ?
Any advice or comments appreciated.
Peter

DeanSumm,
Please start your own thread.  It needs to include your hardware configuration and a description of your problem.

Peter,
Is this a new build?

Were all components purchased new?

"Suddenly fails"

Does this mean it worked before?

Hi.... thanks for replying

It has been working for about two years, then suddenly stopped.
Further to my last post, I removed everything from the case, reset CMOS, refitted mobo/cpu/memory etc - the bare minimum.
Power 'on' - single beep - into BIOS screen - reset to defaults
Reboot - all seems ok - into Win10 logon screen .... must ask my friend for his password !
Fit Gigabyte GV-N10 5TG1 video card - gets thru' POST then blank screen
Reckon I'll try loading previous BIOS settings and take a look at them.

Is there any special sequence for fitting video card to this mobo ?

Greetings,
There is no special sequence for installing a video card on this board.

Install it in the PCIEx16 slot

You have PCIEx power connected to the card correct?

Do you have any cards installed in the PCIEx1 or PCI slots?

Hi  shadowsports

Yep, video card into the PCIEx16 - line from the PSU straight in - no other slots in use
I'm thinking that the card must be "enabled" to act as the primary video output - I set the BIOS to 'defaults' without this card installed.

I now have the Win10 password - saves me having to 'break in' - so can take a look at what's been going on.
Won't be for a few hours as I have an iMac to finish off first.

Thanks for the assist
Peter
