Title: Z390 Gaming X Board Cant get Line-In Audio To Work
Post by: Colin R on April 30, 2020, 01:43:29 am
I have the Z390 Gaming X motherboard

For weeks now trying to get the Aux in / Line-In onboard sound to work.

Ive tried windows 10 drivers and also the gigabyte drivers, ive updated to the latest bios

I can hear a slight thump when i turn sound up to max on the ports

When i check windows sound options it shows the signal it is there and its strong but getting very low and distorted sound from the input

Any help would be great as i need to get this working ASAP for work commitments

I have I7 CPU
32 GB DDR4 RAM

Thanks In Advance

Greetings,
I'm trying to understand your problem description.

Output:
Are you using analog or optical out?

Do system sounds play normally?

What port(s) are your speakers connected to?

Input:
What are you plugging into the Line-In port? (This is port "K" on the lower right hand corner)
Does "port sense" detect the device when connected?

Display:
Are you connecting to an external display using HDMI?

"I can hear a slight thump when i turn sound up to max on the ports " ..  Volume?  on what exactly (your speakers)?

"When I check windows sound options it shows the signal it is there and its strong but getting very low and distorted sound from the input"...  On the Recording tab, "Line In"?

So you see your input and it's strong? But playback is low and distorted?
