Title: 5600x on AB350 Gaming3 BIOS
Post by: tywyn on July 02, 2022, 05:59:47 pm
So my friend is calling tomorrow with his son's PC. It had a Ryzen 5 1400, and it now has a 5600x and a new Gigabyte GTX 1660 Ti 6GB ,but it won't boot. They have tried various monitor and leads, but no video. I'm guessing that they haven't updated the BIOS prior to installing the new chip? So I'll need to reinstall the old chip, flash and then reinstall the 5600x. Question is the BIOS is probably very old, so can I flash to the latest BIOS F52g immediately, or does it have to be done in stages, like F40 first etc? Once F40 is done can I then go to F52g?

Hi there,

You need to update the BIOS in stages. Have a look at the BIOS update page here: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-AB350-Gaming-3-rev-1x/support#support-dl-bios as it also states that you need to update the firmware, prior to installing BIOS version 40.
