Title: 3DMark Vantage Challenge
Post by: Darkcat on May 21, 2009, 06:32:19 pm
Hi Guys, this is my first post on here, I was asked (well forced!) to join by Rui of Gigabyte UK.

A few of you will have met me at various events, and at the Gigabyte overclocking champs (Darkcat Systems)

Anyhoo...
I was chatting with Rui and John Hung yesturday at the Channel show, and mentioned the idea of a 3DMark Vantage challenge / Chart.

Im in the shop at the moment, so dont have the screenshot, but im getting 23359 (ish) on the "Performance preset"
Ill post the screen shot and PC Specs when i get home - I must say im VERY, VERY impressed with my CPU score...

Well here goes:
1. - 23359 - Darkcat Systems   (GB x58-UD4P, i7 920 @ 3.3GHz, 6GB XMS3 @ 1667MHz, 2x BFG 260 OCX(stock))
2. - ? - ?
3. - ? - ?
4. - ? - ?
5. - ? - ?
6. - ? - ?

Now its your turn, and SCREENSHOTS PLEASE!!!

P.S - no prizes.. just for fun at the mo...

Sounds like fun! Not sure what GPU I'll have, probs just an 8800GTS 320MB for now but I shall get my rig running and have a bash :P

Although it'll only be on air at the moment (stock) until I get my case back with all the shiney watercooling :D

Is this with or without PhysX? PPU boosts the cpu score which distorts the result.
I tried running it on my machine, but it keeps crashing and it says the display driver has stopped responding and has now recovered. It only happens in the first test, with artifacts on the screen, but is fine as soon as it reaches the second one. So atm I am unable to run it, but I remember getting over 25k with my i7 965 at 4.35Ghz.

Which waterblock? I am getting a quad radiator soon to update my loop, and my gpu gets up to 95C in games so I might be interested. Atm only my cpu is water cooled.
