Title: Looking for LPT Port Bracket
Post by: chookey on March 17, 2008, 11:44:13 am
Hi everyone,
I have just built a new pc using the GA-P35-DS3R motherboard. I really need a comport and parallel port so bought a bracket from my local supplier, unfortunately the pin assignment is incorrect for the header on the motherboard.

Gigabyte do their own bracket..S/N:12CF1-1LP001-01R LPT port cable. I am unable to find anywhere that sells it.

Can anyone help??

RuiPereira,

I also would like to get hold of this bracket. Could you possibly send me a PM, or post the details here as I'm sure many members could benefit from this information.

Regards,

Dan

You'd be better off phoning the Gigabyte contact number for the UK, Rui doesn't seem particularly good at answering PMs. ;)

Is it still possible to buy an LPT header cable from you?( S/N:12CF1-1LP001-01R)

Or can anyone point me in the direction of a company that sells them?

Thanks

Hi Nadia,

I'm also after the port headers (serial & parallel) for my new MA790FXT-UD5P. Are the details for the cheque still the same?

Many thanks

Mark

P.S. One of the main reasons I bought a Gigabyte board is the onboard parallel port. Real onboard ports like this are essential for anyone wanting to run old parallel port dongle protected software on old versions of Windows running inside Microsoft VirtualPC. MS VPC does not recognise ports on expansion cards, only onboard ports at the original address. The parallel port is also the reason why I bought the expensive UD5P instead of the cheaper MA790 FX-UD4P. I don't need crossfire support, dual Ethernet or multiple raid arrays, just a parallel port. So can you please, please, please, please, please ask your board designers to keep designing boards with onboard parallel ports. Thanks again.

Ping Nadia

Dear Nadia,
Is there a way to purchase the 12CF1-1LP001-01R   Lpt port bracket locally in the US?
Perhaps you could please forward contact info to me, for your counterpart in the US?
Thank you in advance!

I've searched all the online retailers over here and cannot find it.
Found a few generics, but I understand the MB Header's Pin-Out is different than standard.
Thanks again!      Cheers!

John

Well sometimes, although the moderator, runn3R, has just gone away for two weeks so I wouldn't expect much in the next few weeks. You could try contacting Gigabyte Technical Support though.

I've got 2 spare if anyone wants them, I bought a few from china as the only cheap way to get hold of them !

One is 30cm cable, the other is 25cm which was a tad too short for my mobo.

You can see my email address if you click me, send a small donation to cover postage is all I ask.

Howdy,

does anyone know a way to get the LPT cable 12CF1-1LP001-01R in the USA?
All the on-line vendors don't/won't carry the cables (maybe just the COM cable if at all)

Thanks for any info.

Hi,

I hope that Gigabyte still sell the LPT cable 12CF1-1LP001-0*R for the GA-PA55-USB3 I've just purchased. Could Nadia or someone else at Gigabyte in Milton Keynes confirm this and verify the postal address for my cheque?

Thanks

Peter

I would advise you to PM runn3R the Gigabyte representative as a faster way to contact someone.
