Title: M68M-S2P and SATA drive problem
Post by: TonyB on September 19, 2010, 11:54:32 pm
Recently purchased an M68M-S2P rev. 1.0  mobo and a new AMD Athlon processor to swap out as exact replacement to what I had in my pc before. I already have Vista OS installed on hd plugged into SATA 1 and CD rom in SATA 2. I thought that everything would go smoothly. I cannot boot to windows. I do get the green windows vista cursor that scrolls across the screen before it normally boots up. It goes into repair mode instead of booting up correctly. I tried several times to "repair" with no success.

I have read the instructions and have tried to adjust the CMOS and BIOS settings. Most importantly, I have disabled the RAID settings as I am not using a RAID setup. I really have tried to fix thiss on my own and I did not see any posts that touch on this subject. If I missed it I apologize.

Can someone help? ???

Did you purchase this motherboard/CPU as new?

Hi there,
not sure if I'm understanding the situation properly but, have you taken the  HDD with the operating system install on it from your old PC and put it into the new one? If the answer to that is yes, then that could well be the problem and the only practical cure would be to do a clean install of the operating system.
