Title: Intel® Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O (VT-d)

Why Gigabyte's motherboards doesn't have Intel® Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O (VT-d)? ???

I try configure my bios and nothing... I try to find a new motherboards and nothing... ???

What's happening?

My CPU is q9400 and have VT-d, but in the bios doesn't show any option to active it.
the xenclient setup show me VTx is enabled but VT-d is disabled...

I looked in the manual for my board and also on new motherboard on site and the bios has no option to enable VT-d. My friend has an HP computer and have the option. My computer at work is Dell and also have the option. My cousin has an Intel motherboard also has that option.

This is a very strange...

Please take a look on your bios and verify this options.

If you still can't find it I would open a question with GGTS.

Yes, I try CRTL and F1, but still show only "Virtualization technology" option, not Vt-d option

I explained the Vt-d option is an extra, but I'm still waiting for the answer.

Thank you for your help, so when I have the resolution, I will put here in the forum, but is very strange, all motherboard manual I see on gigabyte website, doesn't have any indication or information about Vt-d...

I would think gigabyte would want to keep it simple and have all VT types under “Virtualization Technology” option. My guess is there is a set bit needed for the VT-d as a way of enabling it and disabling so you may get a BIOS sent to you...and then how many other boards have this problem...

Edit: Arr...this might be a problem for your G31..

I ask for models name of MB with Vt-d support, because there is no information on any product page.

Your motherborad G31 chipset - doesn't support VT-d.

chipsets which support VT-d are:
Q35 / Q45 / X58 / 3450 / Q57

but I only know that INTEL's motherboards 100% support that, GIGABYTES - not testing, and I don't have money that buy and sold motherboard which don't pass test. I want to buy GA-Q57M-S2H (supprot IDE, HDMI, more cheaper PCI than PCIe, more SATA, optical interface and HD audio on back panel) - greate motherboard but this is too much risk for me ;) because GA-Q57M-S2H only have in bios VIRTUALIZATION TECHNOLOGY -> what does it mean? VTd/VTx/VTc? May be All, may be only VTx as that in greate motherboard with support USB 3 -> GA-H57M-USB3

thats why I bought Intel DQ57TM (don't have HDMI - have only DisplayPort and DVI - optional adapter cables cost ..., only have 1xPCI and 2x PCIe, only 5x SATA, have only on motherboard pins option S/PDIF, HD audio - in Gigabyte all this funcion you have in standard)

There is nothing stopping you from contacting GGTS or Gigabyte sales and querying the points you require answer to with them prior to making a purchase ;)
