Title: Getting HyperV to work on GA-MA790GP-DS4H

I know that, offically, the DS4H does not support Windows 2008. And that is the "message" I'm receiving from Gigabyte Support. So I'm posting here to check if anyone has any working solutions for me.

Using GA-MA790GP-DS4H with F5 firmware. I tried to set up HyperV, each time using a different AMD processor. The results are surprisingly different!

First try: Using  Athlon 64 X2 3800+. Windows 2008 Server 64-bit installs and boots up. Adding HyperV role works with no glitches.

Second try: Using Phenom II X4 955. Windows 2008 Server 64-bit installs and boots up. If I add HyperV role, OS DOES NOT BOOT UP. If I safe-boot and then remove Hyper-V, boot up works again.

Does anyone have any tips to share on how to get the Phenom II X4 955 to work with DS4H for Hyper-V?

No one has responded to this thread at this stage. I was wondering if a certain older version of a BIOS for this MB will support Hyper-V, similar to what this post says "AMD Hyper-V Support for MA790XT-UD4P" http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php/topic,338.0.html (http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php/topic,338.0.html).

Anyone?

You may try to check with some old bioses or with the latest beta F6a (http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/upload/files/BIOS_MA790GP-DS4H_F6a.zip).

Finally got time to try the F6a BIOS, and guess what! Hyper-V works!! Now I'm eagerly awaiting the release of F6 BIOS. Anyone knows when this is slated to happen?  ;D
