Title: 2 similar cards in dual SLI mode
Post by: goldy on July 23, 2009, 05:45:46 am
Hi all,

I have in my system the GV-N26OC-896H-B video card and ordered a second one to run in dual SLI mode. However, the dealer sent me a slightly different model, the GV-N26OC-896I. Is anyone able to tell me if they will run in SLI with no probs?

Cheers,

Goldy

Yeah they're both gigabyte 260gtx's so no problems there. If one is clocked slightly slower than the other, then the faster one will match the slower clock speeds (unless you manually overclock ofcourse)

But in short: yes they'll work fine :)

As Ogg said should be fine.

If I remember correctly nVidia removed the need for identical cards in SLI over a year back, but I haven't followed it for a bit to see how different they can be.

I did have an XFI 7800GT and  BFG 7800GT OC running together in SLI for a while, but didn't notice much of a performance difference and preferred to have multimonitor support over SLI.
