Hi again everyone!
Ok, New Years day here and couldn't resist a super deal on GTX 460.
I hope to install this bad boy tonight. My questions:
Does anyone here have advice for an aftermarket GPU fan/cooler on the GTX 460? Several reviews are mentioning that the fan is a bit loud so I am looking at the different options that might be available to make this card quieter.
Thanks,
Soar

Hi Soar,
To be honest it is a perennial problem with a lot of GPUs nowadays and most of them tend to get a bit noisy when under load. There are quieter options but of course it depends on how far you want to go.
You could always watercool the card (alone or with the rest of the system) or if you wanted to air cool still personally I would go for a modding option and remove the existing fan and use a larger dedicated case fan via some flexible trunking. That way it would be using cooler air from outside the case and because of the larger volume at a slower speed be much quieter.

DM,
Thanks for the great ideas. Ok, can you please send me a pic of a dedicated case fan via flexible trunking so I can have an idea how to go about this new adventure? I have understood your words but I need some pics to so I can better grasp how to make this work.
Thanks,
Soar

Hi Soar,
Sure thing I will do. Probably the cheapest, easiest option for you and not too much of a mod job.

I totally agree...now the only thing I need to do is get the 460 working!
