Title: GA-880GA-UD3H Ethernet not working.
Post by: bigdaveberg on January 08, 2011, 02:01:46 am
Hello, long time no see  :P

Anyways yesterdday my ethernet port worked fine. Today i got back from work and my cat5e is disconnected. My mom took the cupler (cable about 2 feet to short) for her laptop. (We have wireless 2.4ghz cameras on during the day.) Well i go to get online and bam no network. So i do some testing with different cables. Non worked. I did test the cables with my brothers pc and they work on his. Now i do notice that when i plug a cable in the status lights go all haywire and blink on/off. In windows 7 x64 pro btw, I can see that ethernet connection is identiying/no identifiying, does this for a little bt then stops...

Did my mom break my ethernet jack??????

I repair the drivers. Didn't help. I am currently downloading driver sweeper to delete them and start again.
Please help lol.

I am using my dlink dwa-130 currently.....

I should mention that windows see's my ethernet card and everything...

Edit: Driver sweeper doesnt see the eththern driver...

And the forums modify box is acting up...

Try to disable onboard LAN in bios, save changes, boot into Windows, restart into  BIOS again, enable the onboard LAN, save and re-boot into Windows. If that does not help, try to reset CMOS by removing battery for 2 hours or more... :-\

Hi there,

I had a similar experience on my own motherboard, the GA-890FXA-UD5 where the Ethernet ports failed in Windows and wouldn't work. The only way I resolved it was to do a clean install of the OS.

However, the problem has only occurred when I try to run Ubuntu 10.4 and I think that somehow, the Windows registry is being screwed up. Not sure how or why and haven't taken much time on researching this problem as I don't use Ubuntu regularly and since removing Ubuntu from my system I have had no more problems with the Ethernet Ports.

I would also advise trying a new cable, preferably one that is long enough this time  ;D

The latest Microsoft update driver breaks the Ethernet driver roll back your driver all should be well.

Hey where are you? Truth is, he is probably disconnected from the net forever. Try pulling power to your psu. Turn off all power flowing into your psu. That should get you back up. I am having a similar issue and that is the only thing that has solved it for me. Does this help?

Are you using the latest driver? There have been problems with these LAN chips. The latest driver at Gigabyte was dated 12 Dec 2010. Hopefully it helps "fix" some things.
