Title: Re: I've just built my PC and it won't BOOT!
Post by: red_gigio on January 13, 2011, 11:15:19 am
I have this trouble, Now I have a new MB ( GA-H55M-USB3) with INTELi3 540 (Clarkdale) Dual Core 3,06 Ghz socket LGA 1156 32 Nm.The system doesn't start.led of MB is flashing, and nothing is going up.I think the problem is PSU...
Before I started with built, I read manual and I found that"Use of a power supply providing a 2x4 12V power connector is recommended by the CPU manufacturer when using an Intel Extreme Edition CPU (130W)"". I have an I3 540, I thinked that I am not in this situation...
In my new case that I have selected for this Micro-ATX MB( it is a LAGUNA by ENERMAX) , there isn't a cable with 2x4 atx connector only one with 4 atx connectors.I have plugged only cable with 2x12 atx conector, I think this is the fail....doesn't it?

Yes you are on right. But also Manual is not very clear sometimes."Use of a power supply providing a 2x4 12V power connector is recommended by the CPU manufacturer when using an Intel Extreme Edition CPU (130W)." reccomended or YOU HAVE TO USE for normal functionality!!!!!

I'am a very stupid man my last "creation" is older than 7 years, and I have lost the important lesson tha I have learned. In fact My old PC had 650 watt PSU!!!!!
 :(

Hi and glad to see that you have found the answer to your problem. It is not necessary to change the case each time you rebuild but unless it is fairly new and has all the correct connections the PSU would be wise. ;)
