Title: Congratulations to Dark Mantis on 8000 posts!, now 10K
Post by: absic on January 20, 2011, 12:30:17 pm: Just wanted to be the first to say congratulations to Dark Mantis for reaching his 8000 posts and counting. So far he is averaging 27 posts a day which is truly amazing. :o

Now, if we could just stop him waffling it would be perfect! :P

Well done mate and keep up the good work! :D

The forum I was really active in was blu-ray.com and that was 4000 posts in one year. You get to 8000 in several months. ;D (yes, I was a blu-ray fanboy during the war :-[. I was anti HD DVD, though I own both formats with BD outnumbering HD DVD). Now that Blu-ray has won the war, I am no longer active in that forum, though I still visit it frequently.

I did purchase a few HD disks though as they were selling them off for next to nothing after the decision was made. :D

Hey you are lucky at least. I was into BD back in 2006. You did not experience the blow I was experiencing when Paramount switched side to HD DVD. It was a real joy for me when Warner did the opposite.

I am a PlayStation fanboy, and this is why I was on to BD very early. I got myself an original PS3 (the first batch of Japanese release - since I am anti-English language games. I prefer to play Japanese one). This was to play PS2 games, not PS3 games. It was to be honest, a dangerous gambling, roller coaster ride. It was really expensive. Now, I got at least 6 BD readers/writers (2 for laptop, 4 for desktop and 2 PS3, though none of them are proper BD players). My BDs are now about 100+.

I got into HD DVD because I really wanted this HP Pavilion HDX, but it came only with HD DVD. So before I bought it, I secured a BD writer off ebay for £200+. I took off HD DVD from the laptop as soon as I got it, and installed the blu-ray drive (alas, with HD DVD bezel). I am still using it externally though (I own 2 HD DVD drives in total, including that hybrid LG one)

All joking apart mainly because of the Cougar Point (Sandy Bridge) problem that Intel dumped on everybody it has been somewhat hectic recently. I wrote 81 posts yesterday and normally they have been up around 50 these last few weeks.

He posted more than 9000 now... Statistic from "Jan 20 ~ Feb 13" is about 50 posts per day, 2 posts per hour...
