Hi all,
Just finished building my pc and its going great with 7 BUT im having a few troubles getting my xp partition going.
First, could somebody tell which drivers i should be using? Theres 2 downloads on the drivers page and ive tried both but they only end in a blue screen or xxx.xxx is corrupt when loading from floppy. Ive also tried it with and without ACHI mode, which is it? The drive is a 500gb cuda.
Regards,

Hi and welocme to the Gigabyte Forum.
Firstly how are you trying to load it from floppy when there is no floppy connector on this motherboard ?
Secondly which XP version are you trying to install 32 or 64 bit ?

Hi,
Im using a Usb floppy drive with 32bit xp

Maybe I am missing a pertinent point here but all the drivers are available for download here:

Ok,
Theres to two driver packs i can see the
Marvell RAID Preinstall Driver (SATA3) for AHCI Mode Note: Press F6 during Windows setup to read from floppy.
OS:Windows XP 32bit
When i load the floppy with the above driver pack it gives me two options something like
Marvell raid driver (INSTALL FIRST) = blue screen
&
Intel storage raid driver etc = xxx.xxx is corrupt
when i run the other one the
Intel SATA RAID Preinstall driver (For AHCI / RAID Mode)
Note: Press F6 during Windows setup to read from floppy.
OS:Windows XP 32bit,Windows Server 2003 32bit
It gives me about 5 INTEL RAID DRIVER XXX to choose from, i tried 2 random ones and got blue screens. So at the moment i dont know which driver pack, option or even if i should have achi on or not

I don't understand why you want to load RAID drivers when you aren't running a RAID array.

Move up to a 64 bit version of Windows 7.........XP pfffffffft LOL

yea i know, im running 64bit 7. I need xp to program eproms and run some older programs that dont function properly under 7.
ANYWAY
I finally got the right drivers by trail and error and installed xp on a seperate partition PROBLEM IS it doesn't give me the choice when i boot now and automatically loads xp....

Try installing Win7 again over the top of the old installation and hopefully the boot manager will take over at normal boot.
