Title: GA-P35-S3G issue
Post by: adycoke2 on January 26, 2011, 06:02:23 pm
Hi people,
I am new at this forum and unfortunately i have registered gygabyte forum to post an issue (strange one).
I have encountered sounds interuptions from time to time for about 1-2 secs at the time, and its annoying....so i moved memory modules from slots 1-3 to 2-4 and then everything goes fine for a few months..but now the problem is back.I tested memory with memtest+ and no errors.
(i have 2x2GB Corsair PC6400 800 Mhz XMS DHX DDRII CL4 at 2.1V.
I must mention that my old memory modules(kingston 2x1GB) worked fine with this MOBO.
I am thinkin to make an BIOS update  (F2 my mobo version),but as far as i know there is no update for memory modules at description for BIOS update.
So ,do you think that an BIOS update will solve my compatibility issues between MOBO and RAM?
i have to mention that i encountered problems both with my creative audigy sound card and also with my DAC Arcam...so,the problems i think remains between MOBO and memory ram

My system:
Q9400
P35-S-3G
HD4770
Corsair PC6400 800 Mhz XMS DHX DDRII CL4 at 2.1V 2x2GB
Audigy
Arcam rDAD

Many thanks,
Adrian

PS sorry eng.

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

It would certainly be worth updating your BIOS to the laterst version as often the descriptions of what has been fixed in the updates is sketchy to say the least.

The other thing is to test your memory with Memtest 86+ as follows:

Memtest86+        http://www.memtest.org/

Insert one stick of memory in slot 1 and run Memtest on it for at least 10 loops and if there are no errors then swap it over with the next one and continue untill you have checked all  modules.

If you have any errors the module is faulty.

If you have any faulty modules you will have to return the whole kit as they are matched.

Post back when you have done that with the results.
