Title: Boot from PCI Raid Controller!?!
Post by: networkn on August 05, 2009, 12:55:38 am
Hi There!

I might be being dense but I can't see how I can tell my GAM55SLIS4 Motherboard to boot from a Promise TX2300 Sata RAID Controller, as there is no opton in the boot menu? Is there some trick? Is it possible? If not, is there a board that is fully compatible with this board that will do it?

Hi,
Just done a quick google on your problem, and lots are having a merry go round :o
Is your mobo on the compatibility list?
Another thing cropping up,
Cons: The BIOS requires that you enter a space to bypass the RAID management screen EVERY TIME YOU BOOT. So, forget unattended restart (e.g. don't plan on using this for a home NAS box!). Furthermore, although all  other BIOS screens are accessible from a USB keyboard, Promise BIOS ignores USB input. So, go find a special, PS/2 keyboard just to boot this box.
