Gigabyte G-Power 2 Pro Cooler
This CPU cooler has a new slant literally on the process of cooling both the processor and the surrounding chipsets. Cleverly Gigabyte has designed this to not only remove the heat from the CPU but to also blow the air across the surrounding motherboard area which is something that many other good heatsink/fan combinations fail to do which can cause overheating of the nearby components. Incorporated is a 120mm curved bladed fan and five 8mm heatpipes to help quickly dissipate the processor's heat output. At only 590gms it belies it's power as it seems quite light compared to some of the gargantuan opposition.
It can be fitted to just about any motherboard socket as it comes complete with a set of mounting brakets. It is also possible to locate in any direction on most boards making customising of the cooling options even more diverse.
The fan comes with blue LEDs installed and the cable is already braided (black) and of a decent length which is nice to see as standard. The standard fitting is to connect to a motherboard CPU header but even this has been thought out thoroughly and the option to connect instead to a molex socket on the PSU via a speed limiting Y-adapter with either 12v or 5v output giving even more control giving a full and roughly half speed options. This enables the user to manually reduce the noise if wanted whilst still maintaining a good airflow.
This unit is well thought out and very expansive in it's standard form.

Looks like an interesting cooler. Would like to see it mounted on a motherboard, inside a PC Case though!
-
You won't have to wait long absic. ;)
-
If you want to send it over to me for that part of testing????......
-
If I get stuck I will bear that in mind...
-
It certainly looks nice! Whose idea was it to mar it's beauty with those stickers, though?
Give us MOAR info or rather tests! ;D
-
The stickers were already attached I'm afraid, but I agree they could have been put somewhere less obtrusive.
I didn't go into any more detail or do any depth of testing because Gigabyte has stopped selling it here in the EU now which is a shame I think. I will keep updating the temperatures etc on the main Living Review as I OC it etc.

As can be seen in my Living Review thread this cooler equits itself very well in a real world scenario. I overclocked the 2500K processor up from 3.3 Ghz to 4.7 Ghz with no temperature problems whatsoever. ;D

Never seen a cooler quite like that before, look forward to seeing results.

Check out the link above for the temps when overclocked to 4.7 Ghz. Only problem is that Gigabyte don't sell it in the EU anymore.

how would those compare to my coolermaster 212+ ?
Love this cooler but I had to take the fan off my side window and have to use last 2 slots for my ram lol
-
Well I am sure it would be a similar performance looking at the specs but as I mentioned in my last post Gigabyte no longer sells these in the EU.
-
I was reffering to those on sale at scan in link
-
Sorry misunderstood. The Noctua is the only one I would personally go for but as you metioned it is all about fitting it in.

If you haven't got room for that either then I guess any of the others would do the job just with less performance.
