Lamptron Cable Modding Tool Kit

Once in a while something comes along that makes me feel particularly enthusiastic. It isn't always some big expensive item but one that has been designed and manufactured with some extra thought and care. This is how I felt when the Lamptron Modding Tool Kit came to me. From the outset I could see it was special. The cardboard sleeve around a metal box just enticed me to open it. Inside there was a very securely packed kit of parts set into specially cut neoprene closed cell foam cut outs. Covering this was another layer of neoprene just to keep them secure.

This is by far the best cable modding kit I have seen on the market bar none. It consists of a solid stainless steel handle with a threaded hole in one end to take the different component ends. You simply have to decide on which tool is required for releasing the pins of the particular connector that you are using and screw it into the handle. Unlike most tools for this job that are available these are not flimsy and poor quality that will break the first time that you apply a bit of pressure to them and I speak from experience!

Now you could expect to have to pay dearly for this sort of quality and even then I would say it would be worth it but at just over £15 I reckon it is extremely good value. I really don't know how this could be improved upon and follows Lamptron's usual quality.

This is quite a good looking tool. I suppose it's great if you're really serious about modding your PC. Simple, classy, I like it :)

It does make a difficult job much easier. I struggled along using other tools to do the job and then less well designed and made tools that were supposed to be made for it that used to break and bend as soon as you tried to use them. >:( This tool is briliant.
