right not voerly techincal but ive got a Gigabyte GA-P35-S3 with 2 slot with 1gb in each
ive got another 2 gig - 667mmz (in another slot)
so stay with me ;) - my vista system is showing me 3 gig - when it should be 4 gig
the question is how can i sort this ?
and does my mobo support 2gb ram (1 stick) ??

Hi,
Any 32bit o/s will only see 3.4 gigs,
64 bits o/s will see 128gig

ok cheers for that im running 32 bit
cheers for clearing that up, but when i clip the one 2 gig ram in and remove the others it still shows up as 1gig and not 2 gig
my mobo supports it is it there but just isnt showing correctly ??

Try running CPU ID from http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php and see how much memory it recognizes in the system,
that looks at the BIOS & not vista settings show the correct amount of memory installed. This seems to be a memory problem within Vista.
You could try, hitting F2 until the bios screen appears.you should now see that the bios recognizes the 2 gig stick, ;D
Hit f10 to save and exit, You should now see 2 gig is activated.

CUPID pciked the 4gig up no problem
my bios 647 - 3040 or something along those lines its been a few mins already forgot the numbers lol
