Title: HD 4650 AGP Voltage (1.5V + 0.8V)
Post by: mabuk on August 28, 2009, 01:21:21 am
Hello,
I'm interested in purchasing the Gigabyte HD 4650 AGP card.

However, I have noticed that my mobo has a 1.5V (4X) AGP slot. Is this card backwardly compatible? (The connectors certainly match)

I notice that the Sapphire version is 4x/8x compatible, and I believe they all use the same Rialto AGP bridge chip. I suppose it makes sense that it should be compatible with the old technology that it's aimed at.

Thanks,

Update:

Yes, it does work with 1.5v sockets (in spite of a reviewer at newegg saying the opposite).

Nephew now happily playing 'Company of Heroes' with max. settings.
