Hello. I have new m1405 and I am experiencing terrible problems with BSOD with stop code 0x124 in random time (about twice a day) with absolutely no mutual actions. I tried two different HDD, two different Windows 7 64bit CZ installations, two different RAM modules.
I have sent this laptop to local Gigabyte representative od service 100mega, they tested this laptop for about 7 days and returned to me with "no malfunction discovered" statement. A had attached Windows minidump files on flash but they were not able to analyze it.
I am very tired now, I am spending last 20 days with troubleshooting and dealing with shiftless service instead of working and it costs me a lot. I admire this laptop because its parameters and equipment are wonderful, but I can not use unstable notebook for my work.
I have those minidump files ready to send and I am prepared to cooperate, but I really need talk to someone responsible and liable.
My friend has also m1405 and it seems he has same BSOD but not so often, so it is possible more people have the same problem.
Thank you,
Martin Celikovsky

Hello Martin and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.
I don't know that much specifically about laptops but I can maybe help you with what your problem is. THe Blue Screen Error Code 124 is basically telling you that the QPI/Vtt voltage is incorrect. It may be too high or too low there is no way of telling just like that.
What you will need to do is go into the BIOS and find the setting for QPI/Vtt voltage (it is probably under the MIT - Motherboard Intelligent Tweaker tab). Try either increasing it or decreasing it a touch. Only a small amount and then see if it has made things better or worse and you can go from there. ;)
-
Dark Mantis, thank you very much, buty problem is my BIOS doesn't have such menu. There are just basic menus like SATA conf. but no mainboard configuration:(
-
Ah! That is what I wondered with it being a laptop. Have you tried going into the main BIOS menu and pressing CTRL+ F1 for added options ?
-
No, I will try now, thank you!
-
It did not helped, ctrl f1 doesn't work and I have read all the BIOS help and there is no other advanced mode mentioned:(
-
I am afraid then that I am out of ideas but at least you know what is causing your problem now. It is merely a case of finding out how to fix it. I would suggest asking GGTS for an answer. They do take a while to get back to you sometimes though so allow at least several days.
Just enter your email address and click on the language of choice.

A have already did it, but they seems to be pretty lost on this. First they told me it might HDD problem, then authorisated service told me there is not any problem.... Now I really need some Gigabyte notebook expert to help me and avoid me to send the laptop back to factory. Thank you for help anyway. Martin
-
I am afraid the notebook expert we had here has gone but if you explain to GGTS what the problem is and what needs to be done maybe they can help you with a fix for it. Worth a try anyway I would say. ;) They could always give you a customised BIOS for the machine.

Are you using the latest drivers for everything? Just checking, because I see this when looking up your BSOD Event ID 41, which is not the same as the BSOD 0x00000124 you mention
http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid=41&eventno=9230&source=Kernel-Power&phase=1
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2028504
I'll grab your latest BIOS now and look into it to see what options you do have, BSOD 0x00000124 is Vtt related almost always, so hopefully you will be able to adjust something to compensate for this.
In the meantime, please go ahead and update the machine to the latest BIOS F14

Can you please tell me what memory you are using in the system? Model number or link if you have it.
If you have never changed the memory, and or are unsure, please post an image of the SPD tab of CPU-z

I just downloaded your BIOS, unfortunately I do not have any tools that can view your available settings, but I can modify these BIOSes but that's no help ;D
Can you please post me several images of all your options in the MIT page of the BIOS, or whatever the page is that has all your CPU/memory settings, thanks!

What happened here DM?

I really don't know Lsdmeasap. I guess the OP went off somewhere else. ???

Which one will be the best Gigabyte M1405 or Gigabyte T1000P?
