Title: Clearing the CMOS

I have just tried to clear my CMOS but it didn't seem to clear all of my overclock settings save in the BIOS. I though when you cleared the CMOS it would default everything, all of the settings. I cleared the CMOS using my jumper pin on the motherboard. Should I have removed the battery? And does this mean that my motherboard is bork or need to be reflashed. Would someone please assist. Thank you in advance.

Hello, go into bios and just load optimized default settings this will work.

I've tried that but my overclock settings are still there. They won't change. Do you think my mobo maybe going bad? I've also tried "Fail Safe Defaults" with no luck.

I just read something to the effect that if both BIOS doesn't match meaning the Main BIOS and the Backup BIOS then there maybe some conflict. I never knew that. But in my case I don't think this is the problem I don't think. After this is resolved then I will make both BIOS the same.

Hi

When you cleared your CMOS you didn't do it correctly. You need to remove the battery and then short the jumper for a while and then replace the battery. After that go into the BIOS and load Optimised BIOS Defaults.

If you still have problems with this post back and I will tell you what to do next.

Have you now done an extended clear of the CMOS and loaded the Optimised BIOS Defaults ?
