can someone plz help me if in gigabyte GA-K8N-SLI can i put the INTEL CORE I7-990X EXTREME EDITION 3.46 GHZ LGA1366 - BOX

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

The short answer is no. The motherboard you have is a AMD platform and the chip you are referring to is Intel. Apart from that they are years apart in timelines. ;D

Obviously it depends on what you are going to be asking your computer to do most of the time but in general I would say that this is the most powerful CPU:

AMD Athlon 64x2 4800+  1MBx2 Toledo 90nm E6 2000 F2
