Hi, can anybody please help.

Is an AM2 processor compatible with AM2+ mobo?

mobo is MA790X (AM2+) and processor is AM2 Athlon 64 6400+ Dual Core AM2)

Hi I run the DS5 mobo and ran the  AM2 Athlon 64 6400+ Dual Core AM2 on my board I now run the AMD 9850 Black, so it should not be a problem, if you look at supported CPU it will give you a list but remember supported does not mean it will not run, you need to look at the bios updates and read forums you have a great board  ::) The problem will be the other way around, you have an AMD 2+ mobo it should run all AMD 2s and AMD 2+ with the right bios update. but not all AMD 2 boards will run AMD 2 + CPU
