Now that I've been playing with the board and learning its tricks, I've been starting to scare some Intel guys with some benchmarks on the other forums I attend.
I thought you guys would like to see that the 990FXA-UD5 will deliver when you push it. Right now I'm holding the second highest score for an AMD + GTX480 SLI in 3DM11, looks like the only guy beating me has the Crosshair V with a cherry 1090T
Any one else have the UD5, or 7 and are dabbleing with the overclocking game?

Nice figures there Lordred!
Are you running the F5b BIOS, the F4 or the F3?

Using the F5b you sent me last month.
Although a little messy because I do not have any 45 or 90 degree fittings, here is how it looks. Picture was while I was bleeding the system so there is alot of tiny air bubbles in the line.

Hi dude ,
Could you post some picture from your bios settings you set for this overclocking , i'm trying to o/c mine , but i can't have something stable .
Thanks .

I decided top mount did not look to good. So I made a holder for my 140x420 rad and placed it behind my computer for now.

starting to get some lower ambient temps, so I'm going for lower voltage high OC's since the room temp is getting down to 20C. These AMD's really love cold more then voltage. I've got my 1100T sitting just north of 4ghz @ 1.36v on load now, 2600mhz NB, and keeping the ram at 1333 7-7-7-24-33-1T 1.35v
Still having fun with the UD5

Looking good now and nice tight timings on the memory. The temperature certainly has a big input as far as getting to the bigger clocks.

Question: How come you and absic are able to get this motherboard to overclock successfully when others don't seem to be able to?
-
The biggest problem with most peoples overclock attempts on this board is not setting the memory timing correctly. Unlike other providers such as Asus, when you set your memory timing to manual to adjust CAS, tRAS, tRCD, tRP, tRC, and Command Rate, you forget that there is also latency to be set, CAS to CAS Prewrite, Bank Error Time, and a whole slew of settings to adjust. If we had more ram that came with a JEDEC spec for 1333 and 1600mhz which already had these timings programed in them we would have alot less trouble with most people overclocking on the AMD platform in general. Most high performance DRAM has its advanced profile set as an XMP (Extreme Intel Profile) which our motherboards to not read, so they default to the pre-designed JEDEC spec.
You can see that my Kingston HyperX T-1 is a set with the Extreme Intel Profile for its designed speed of 2000mhz, and its JEDEC #4 is a pathetic 1333 with loose timing.

I would be willing to bet if more people took the time to read up on these settings, more people would have success overclocking.
Conversly on the higher end of the spectrum for benchmarking nothing beats pure speed.

Up to 4,440mhz on 4 cores pretty stable, not dead stable yet but all in all, not bad considering it's still on air.

Been messing around with memory timing and speed, and Northbridge freq.
We see a nice progressive increase in speed up till 1840mhz on the E0

Then at 2000mhz Dram speed, we see a decrease in performance

Horsing around with low voltage runs.
CPU @ 3624 1.232v
CPU NB @ 2600 1.1v
DRAM @ 1333 6-7-6 1.4v
No voltage fluctuation
