Title: gigabyte 880gm-usb3 rev 3.1 onboard speaker
Post by: razer_76 on July 23, 2011, 12:43:57 am
why the motherboard does not have an onboard speaker, or am i missing something?
the traditional beep sound serves as an indication of completing post, without it i have to just rely on the screen.

You have not read your documentation !!

http://download.gigabyte.eu/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_ga-880gm-usb3_v1.1_e.pdf

page 27

I have read for you and add a little speaker or a  buzzer to the panel connector  pin 14 & pin 20

Hi

I think it is a very shortsighted and penny pinching step to stop the inclusion of a buzzer/beeper in the motherboard packaging. Many motherboard manufacturers have done the same but for the few pence it would cost to supply them it is indeed a shame as they are undoubtedly a very useful tool when faultfinding.
