Title: GA-MA790X-UD4P & OCZGXS700
Post by: W1nTry on October 05, 2009, 03:03:21 pm
I have a GA-MA790X-UD4P with an X3 720BE powered by a OCZ Gamer Xtream 700W PSU. All was well up until recently, now the machine won't even POST with my PSU. I have tested a generic 500W PSU and the board POSTed and boot into the OS. All worked fine, however when I use my OCZ psu (which was working fine for MONTHS) it doesn't even post. The CPU fan doesn't even spin. All I get are SOLID HDD and Power LEDs and the Video card (MSI Geforce 8800GT) fan spins. Otherwise nothing.

I also tried my PSU in at least 3 other PCs 1 of which was a GA-MA790FXT-UD5P with a X3 720BE. It worked. Any suggestions?

Hi,
Could be one of the rails on the psu is developing a fault,
can you get a  voltage readout on the rig that it  works on to check?
software psu voltage readout with this software, http://www.lavalys.com/products.php?lang=en&page=11
But you can't beat a hard test,

Seeing as my PC can't even post with the PSU, the most I can do is take some readings from it in another PC (though the power drain is not likely to be the same). Otherwise I can take readings off of a working PSU in my PC. I'll see what I can do!
