Hi,
I have BIOS version F6, every time on boot BIOS write "AMD Data Change...Update New Data to DMI!!...Update Successful" I try reflash BIOS and message is still here. Any Sugestion or something? Why every time DMI data change, and update? I try F5 bios, still same. Pc work normal, no problem.
My PC:
VGA Brand : Nvidia Model : GTX260
CPU Brand : AMD Model : X2 955 Speed : 3200
Operation System : Vista 64-bit
Memory Brand : Crucial Type : DDR3
Memory Size : 8gb Speed : 1333
Power Supply : 600w W
Phenom 2 955 3.2ghz
4x2 GB DDR3
1 SATA HDD
1 SATA DVD-RW
1 Sound Blaster gamer
I try disconect HDD, DVD, remove 3 memory stick and all again he update DMI.
P.S. I update bios with Q-flash and usb stick.

Try clearing the CMOS and see if that helps
-
Hi
It seems to be written back to processor when PC wakes up from sleep mode of S3(STR).
from what info i've read,
Have you tried disabling S3,
Cheers
-
I try clean CMOS, and try disabled S3. I think i try all. Maybe is something with Q-flash? Any other have similar problem?
-
Have you tried loading fail safe defaults? What about disabling all power saving features. Do you have a spare graphics card you can try? If your system is running stable and are having no problems I would be temped to ignore it, looks like more of an annoyance than a problem.
-
Yep, system run rock stable. I will try other VGA just to check :)

Hi badpix3l
Bios F7 is available, why not give it a try?
http://www.giga-byte.co.uk/Support/Motherboard/BIOS_DownloadFile.aspx?FileType=BIOS&FileID=15126
Also I found such suggestion:
Load optimized defaults in BIOS -> enter Q-Flash -> Reset DMI data and reboot -> on reboot enter bios, do not let OS load -> enter Q-Flash -> Reset DMI data > Load CMOS Default -> Reboot
-
Yeah the BIOS update should help as the F7 says "Update CPU ID (Support AGESA 3.5.3.1 code / AM3 C3 CPU) " Let us know how you get on :)
-
Also I found such suggestion:
Load optimized defaults in BIOS -> enter Q-Flash -> Reset DMI data and reboot -> on reboot enter bios, do not let OS load -> enter Q-Flash -> Reset DMI data > Load CMOS Default -> Reboot
I upgrade bios on F7.
I try this with "reset DMI data" but same.
-
I read od other forum " http://csd.dficlub.org/forum/showthread.php?t=10862 " some DFI board with 790 chipset do same. Maybe is normal ::)
-
Yeah if you've done everything we've suggested + your system is perfectly stable, I would not worry about it :)
-
i have the same mb and makes the same, update DMI in every boot. i have use a dfi 790fx and makes the same. Maybe is not problem. My system is stable in benchmarks, stability test, games, etc.

Hi All
I confirmed it with our HQ, there is nothing to worry about. The explanation is as follows:
The message means that data of the memory registry of K8 processor has been updated to DMI when the system is turned on. Those data are aimed to be written back to processor when PC wakes up from sleep mode of S3(STR).
Anyway a special bios will be made soon without this message (as it maybe confusing)
-
Ok, tnx very much :D
-
Hi badpix3l
This special bios (http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/upload/files/BIOS_MA790FXT-UD5P_F7.zip) should fix the issue, please try it and feedback
-
I flash Bios and all work fine. No more DMI update on every boot. Only first time :) I hope all new BIOS will have this fix. Tnx again :-*
-
Again new BIOS today F6h:

I seem to still be getting the DMI message on every (cold) boot with BIOS F7.
What is the relationship between BIOS F7 and BIOS F6H - I assume that F7 is more recent and is the one to use.... so why the F6 update?

I downloaded the special bios, but I'm a little confused. Whats the best way to install this while in the windows environment? Is there an application to install this in the windows environment? Does this bios work with XP 32 bit?
or CAN we install this while in the widows environment at all? ???
The instructions that I have found so far are a bit confusing....
-
Hi,
gigabyte windows application @bios does enable you to install, BUT it has caused many peps problems,
Go to the gigabyte web site select your mobo model and download a PDF file on how to use qflash in your bios,
Read it through untill you completly understand it,
It is really easy to do honest, using a usb flash drive or a floppy,
Cheers
-
Best way is use USB stick. Move bios file on usb. Power on computer, press "end", select bios file and flash bios.
-
The guide for Q-Flash is here

Cheers runn3R
Couldn't find the link Doh!

This is whats confusing about it:
I downloaded the special bios, I can move it to a USB stick, BUT...
Is that The Only file I need on the USB stick?
Are there other files that need to be placed on the USB stick with the "Special Bios" to actually make it WORK?
It seems like no manufacturer actually makes it CLEAR and CONCISE, with instructions from START to FINISH.
They always seem to skip the actual requirements, to make the thing actually WORK.
What are the REAL instructions?
-
I have a very similar problem but worse! Please guys read my thread,it is driving me nuts....

I have tried everything thats been sugested!

Yes, bios file (with extension equal to bios version) is enough for upgrade process.

The problem still occurs with the F8c beta BIOS - will the final F8 release incorporate this fix?
-
I'm also seeing this screen at boot up.
I have learned to ignore it as my pc is running rock solid.Running F7 bios.
Great board by the way. ;)
-
I have this as well but as others have reported, other than the message at start up everything runs solid.
The only issue I believe I may have is the slow boot into Windows 7 AHCI thing although I haven't really played around too much yet as I only finished the build yesterday.
