Title: GA-MA770-UD3 and Phenom II X4 965 black edition
Post by: valerian on October 11, 2009, 10:05:10 pm
This 3.4 Ghz processor is not listed in the board compatibility list.
Do somebody try it?
If it works, what is the revision of the board and the bios version?

I plan to buy the Rev 2 board if I find it (french dealers only advertise for Rev 1)!

I would say it would work, but you may want to contact gigabyte direct just to make sure. Or you could just buy a lesser processor + overclock? ;)

I have the rev 2.0 version  FD bios. and it works just fine.
Wondering if they are going to update it tho, to officially support 965be

That is bad support from Gigabyte. I contacted them and they said the 965 BE will not work with this board as it is 140W. Consequently I bought the 955 BE.

That can't be true. They advertise that the board supports 140w cpus.
Anyway, mine is working just fine =)

just as i pressed send i see they have updated the bios for this board to oficcially support the 965BE
