I bought the Z68XP-UD4 mobo, with an i7 2600K cpu, 4Gb of DDR3 and a 1000W PSU (Cooler Master).The mobo came with F1 bios version.
If I press the restart button from the PC case sometimes the PC will restart, sometimes not .Actually it shuts down the system for 4 seconds and then it powers up the system......Brrrrrrr
I updated the Bios to F3 and the n to F4 (the latest one). . If I push the reset button from the case (I have tried this on 2 different types of PC cases and then I just touched the pins on the mobo) nothing happens for 4 seconds.After 4 seconds the system shuts down and stays like that and then powers up after another 4-5 seconds!!!!!
If I press the reset button when the PC boots up, it goes ok but when it goes to the first screen and when it needs to show the list of the hard drives, it shows ---Waiting for ME ready---and the countdown from 10 to 0 and then the PC restarts and boots up normally.....very strange.
I must say that I am experienced in building up PCs.
I contacted the Gigabyte Global Support Service ...and this is what they said to me:
Hi,
Did you try remove the motherboard out the chassis and check the reset work?
Please try to reset the CMOS -
1) Disconnect the power cord from the power supply. Remove the CMOS battery (the flat silver disk) from the motherboard using a srew drive or similar implement. Leave it out for a minute or two, then replace it and power on the system. The BIOS settings should have been reset, allowing the computer to boot.
2) Go into the BIOS - “Load optimized default”
3) Save settings and exit.
4) If this doesn’t work then try "Load Failsafe defau lt

I have tried to do that but the mobo behaves the same......I emailed them and their answer was:
Hi,
Thanks for your feedback and sorry for any inconvenience.
I returned the mobo to the seller and I got a a new one, same model.
I was shocked when I realized thatthe new one behaves exactly the same........
What shall I do with it?

Hi and welcome.
The first thing that springs to mind is that the front panel switches have got reversed(swapped over) and now when you press the reset button you are actually using the power switch. Check your wiring to the switches.
Also go into the BIOS and in the Power Management section check the soft off by power button options and change it to Instant off and the save and exit F10

I've checked that......no luck......even if I don't the case's reset button and I just touch the reset pins from the mobo, it behaves the same.

What about the BIOS option ? Did you check that and if so what effect has that had ?

I am really not sure to be honest! In the BIOS have you got Quick Boot enabled ?

Try going into the BIOS and loading Optimised BIOS Defaults, make any setting changes you want to and then save and exit F10.
If that doesn't work do an extended clear of the CMOS by following these instructions exactly:
Remove the power cable from the mains supply and then press the power switch on the case for a few seconds just to drain any residual energy in the PSU capacitors.
Once done remove the motherboard battery for at least one hour before replacing it.
Next plug back into the mains supply and boot.
You will now need to enter the BIOS by pressing DEL and load Optimised BIOS Defaults.
Make any other changes to the BIOS settings to suit your self like disabling the floppy drive, disabling the full screen logo and making the HDD the primary boot device and then press F10 to save and exit.

BIOS F5a (http://www.fileden.com/files/2009/12/20/2696817/z68xpud4.F5a.zip) is the latest.

Btw,,
Here (http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte/28441-gigabyte-latest-beta-bios-11.html#post274497) is also BIOS F4i & F4j,released after F4.
If didn't help,easy way,use "On/Off" switch on your PSU,instead of "Reset" button on the case.

Can you give a full description of the memory please and Can you confirm if your using XMP profiles....

I've checked the motherboard with 3 different models of DDR3 RAM......no luck

Are any of the DDR3 memories that you tested listed as compatible by the manufacturer ?
If so what are they ?

Hi, I´m having the same problem.
My Z68XP-UD4 (rev 1.0 BIOS F6e) is not working for Windows 7 suspension.
My computer goes to S3 sleep, but when it wakes up nothing apears in the screen. Fans and HD are powered on, but nothing else happens.
When I press the power button for 4 secs and then power on the computer, It does the same describen before in this thread:
Fans, LEDs and HDs starts for 4 secs and then power off for other 4 secs, then power on, power off, power on, power off and then the compuer starts.
The number of times vary between 2 and 4. Some times the screen shows the BIOS post and the message "Waiting for ME ready... 9 8 7 6 5 ... 1 0" apears.
I have downgrade the BIOS from F6e (beta) to F5, but no changes.
