Title: Gigabyte sumo alpha
Post by: deathstrike on October 08, 2011, 12:34:24 pm
Hey everyone I'm still kinda new to this forum, I recently built my PC and its awesome! i have a lot of gigabyte parts but there is one in specific i would like to ask about and that is the my chassis, the sumo alpha, if you look at it you should see LEDs at the front of the chassis and they should light up at the click of a button at the top of the chassis but they only did the first time and have not done it since. If anyone else has experienced this problem or knows what to do it will be much appreciated

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

I haven't had a chance to look at the Gigabyte Sumo cases at all as they don't seem to be easy to get over here. I can only suggest that you check the LEDs are still all connected up to the switch etc and just try and folow the wiring to see where it is connected to the power as that is probably the most likely problem place.

Thanks you very much for the reply,

where would the LEDs be connected?

would the be connected to the motherboard or to the PSU?

I have just been looking at the cases on the website but to be fair they don't give an awful lot of detail especially of the internals. You will just have to try and follow the cables from either the switch or the LEDs. I would have expected them to be connected directly to the power supply somewhere but it could be done in any number of ways.

I have just been looking at the manual and I have found in there what looks to be the connection for the front LEDs which is a 4 pin Molex connector on a flying lead. You can see it here in the bottom left hand side :
